The year is 2015. Tokyo is at war, and Ayato Kamina is an ordinary high school student trying to get by in the city he had known to be home all his life... or so he thinks. When strange men start showing up at his door with intentions to kill, and a mysterious woman, Haruka Shitou, enters the fray... it soon becomes apparent that there's more to his destiny... and Tokyo, than meets the eye. Ayato may be the key to stop the world from further destruction, but at what price this new revelation... when it means knowing that his life... and everything he has ever believed to be real... is nothing but a lie?

The truth has slowly started to unravel, but with it, more lies and deceit are fast to follow. Truth: a mysterious organisation known only as MU had conquered Tokyo, and all attempts to retake the city so far have ended in failure. Truth: Ayato Kamina, a high-school student, is now fighting on TERRA’s side, the unwitting pilot of MU's stolen secret weapon: Rahxephon. Truth: the year… is 2033. Ayato has crossed the rainbow to the other side, but will circumstances drive him back to Tokyo? As his real past catches up with him, the truth may be too much for him to handle.

The final battle is here; and Earth is crying out for a change... for the sake of a tomorrow, sacrifices must be made today. The time has come for the end... and a new beginning...
